Our nature connection sessions for children
At all of our sessions, our intention is to preserve childrens curiosity and to create a safe and secure feeling for them, to allow them to connect with nature and learn through loving their time immersed in it. We know the biology behind why nurturing and attachment is so important for children so we keep our group sizes small. We know that interests become passions and if you start to love nature, then you will want to protect it. Our aim is to provide a safe environment for children to be in, to play in, to explore, to take assessed risks, to learn new skills, to develop self esteem and to holistically learn about nature in nature.
It is time to celebrate our connection to nature, to the world around us and to each other.

Farm and Forest Fridays at Castleruddery Organic Farm, Donard, Co Wicklow (Fridays 11am-2pm)
Farm and Forest Fridays at Castleruddery Organic Farm have been developed with home educated children in mind. Castleruddery Organic Farm is one of the oldest organic farms in Ireland with an oak forest there too. Every Friday during term, the children spend time together as a group, with hands on learning about growing food on the farm and then time in the forest for lunch, play and some forest school activities relating to the natural environment your child will be immersed in. These elements usually have a seasonal focus and include learning about native animals, trees, plants & the natural world, exploring the forest, art in nature, crafts, games, ropes, tool use and fire. The intention is to kindle children’s innate curiosity in a safe and natural setting.

Castleruddery Organic Farm
Forest sessions are based at a gorgeous oak woodland at Castleruddery Organic Farm. This area is steeped in history with the site of an early Irish castle and stone circle nearby and a motte at the farm. Castleruddery Organic Farm is one of the longest established organically certified farms in Ireland. It has been serving the community since 1989 with seasonal vegetables and lots of fresh, green, leafy produce. Complimenting their own, is a wide range of produce from other great Irish organic producers and other organic fruit and vegetables from mainland Europe. The farm shop is open on Fridays and Saturdays- do drop in! I have been shopping there every week for years now and I am so grateful to have found Dominic and Hilda and their very special land.
